business cards

i can't decide what i like. do i want a two-sided design like this? or just one sided like this: i'm thinking that i'll also use them to display the headbands [this is for the queen bee market , remember? may 6 & 7 at the Del Mar Hilton] , so that's why i came up with the double sided one, so that the flower would display just under the logo? or maybe that means the single sided would be better, so that the background is just plain white? hmmm. can't decide. what do you think? 50 of one type, and 50 of the other?

welcome

hi friends, who are coming over from the old space . please take a minute to update your reader, your bookmark, your favorites, or your memory (whatever you use to get yourself here to read this stuff). the new URL is: http://mommiediaries.blogspot.com it looks the same, don't worry. and all the old posts and comments are still here. sorry for confusing you. i hope you'll click "follow" over there on the right sidebar. even if you weren't officially "following" before, i hope you do now! somehow, having a few followers over there makes us bloggers feel like we should keep writing, because at least someone is reading, ya know? oh, and leaving comments provides the same sort of motivation for us, too. just sayin ;)

queen bee

just thought i'd pop in for a minute to let you know that i'll be a vendor at the Queen Bee Market in May. i couldn't be more excited about it! i'll be selling actual finished headbands, clips, brooches, etc. [as opposed to just the tutorials that you'll find in my etsy shop ] and some of my "art" [it's not really art, just white words on a colored background, but made perfect because they're God's Words] and hopefully some do-it-yourself kits, too. if anything, i hope you'll come say hi if you're in town [or within like a 6 hour driving radius]. it would make a fun girl's trip! san diego? who doesn't want to take a mini-getaway to san diego in may?

mercies in disguise

i came across this song today. i love that the "what ifs" in the chorus below aren't really what ifs to me, they're true and proven. i hope you have been blessed in this way described below. and not just in the ways we usually define blessing: We pray for blessings  We pray for peace  Comfort for family, protection while we sleep  We pray for healing, for prosperity  We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering  All the while, You hear each spoken need  Yet Love is way too much to give us lesser things  'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops  What if Your healing comes through tears  What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near  What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise   We pray for wisdom  Your voice to hear  We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near  We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love  As if every promise from Your Word is not enough...

help me overcome my unbelief

in his sermon on Sunday, our pastor spoke about God's best for us, how we can miss out on it, and how that's a dangerous place to be. He's going through the book of Hebrews, verse by verse, and this week we were in chapter 4. here's how it starts: Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands,  let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.  For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did;  but the message they heard was of no value to them,  because those who heard did not combine it with faith. "His rest" is the promised land: God's best for us, His specific, blow-us-away plan for our lives... the Israelites didn't combine the message with faith, so they missed out. of the millions that were brought out of slavery in Egypt, only two entered the promised land. the rest of them died in the wilderness. died   in their unbelief. it's just the same, this side of the cross. Go...

forget not all His benefits

truly lovely

i didn't have a post prepared for today...  but my daughter woke up a little early  so my husband brought her downstairs to play with her toys  while he finished getting ready for work. as i'm finishing up my quiet time, i hear  "oh buzz, i love you. [breaking into song] i love you so much, i love you so much,  i can't even tell you how much i love you". i walk into the living room to find this: a tea party for buzz and "annie" the dog. "i put cinnamon in it" "buzz. you love it?" "he need more" what could be lovelier?  yes, i snapped [and edited] the photos and pulled together this post in 3 minutes flat.  but they're priceless to me. PS: as i hit "publish" on this post, a frantic [almost] 2 year old little girl came running in: "trash truck here! go see him? go see him!?!" she loooves the trash truck. it's tea parties and trash trucks over here, guys.
