a little update

whelp, i had a baby on wednesday!
it was so strange how that was all planned out.
very surreal to just walk into an operating room and have them pull out a baby ten minutes later.
and everything went according to plan, praise God!
we're all happy and healthy and getting used to a family of four [which included buying a new (to us) car because we couldn't fit two carseats in my car AND have daddy drive. he's too tall and the seat wouldn't scoot back enough. we would've had to take 2 cars every time we went somewhere]
i'll write about everything in detail soon, when i have some free time [haha!]
but for now i figured i could at least give you my instagram photos from last week?
make sure you scroll all the way down for a sweet little surprise :)

this girl and her trains

shameless bragging: she does these puzzles 100% by herself. it's amazing.

the trains have taken over our house!

a spontaneous trip to cold stone. one of our last outings as a threesome

this was tuesday. the day before Tessa was born. we spent it together at the park, just me and her
it's amazing that on tuesday she seemed so little still, just a baby.
but on wednesday she walked in and she was this giant child. i can't get over that.

i know what you're really looking for: the new bundle! she's beautiful and perfect in every way.
she even gave me a four hour stretch of sleep the other night which was ridiculous.

also? a professional newborn shoot may or may not have taken place yesterday...
okay, it did. and here's one photo to tease you:

go here to see them all!

  6. Awww, your comment about big sister seeming to grow up so suddenly hit me hard.
I remember those last days before #2 arrived here. I cried and cried because it was almost over...my big girl getting all of my attention and love. I just didnt feel ready to mother a second child.(There was a lot of depression going on inside of me then which I didnt realize until much later). But now I cant imagine life without my TWO girls. Life is gonna be so fun Aly. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!

to wipe away your yelling

one of my favorite things to do in december is to drive around to see the lights. our neighborhood is huge, and we have some seriously awesome houses. one of them is our next-door neighbor, so we don't have to look very far it we don't want to. but at least five or six times in december i would stick the girls in the car and drive around our neighborhood to spot the best-decorated houses. one particular evening, as we were driving, i asked my three-year old if she remembered what was so special about Christmas. "it's when Jesus came to see all my presents!" that's when you know you're doing a good job, right? yeah, so i gently reminded her that Jesus came, in fact, to wipe away our sins. after a thirty second pause, she wondered out loud: "He came to wipe away your yelling?" straight.to.the.heart. "Because when you yell, that's your sin. and when i don't listen to you, that's my sin." yes, right again. i found
